Talent mapping is a picture of the market, not a hire.

A map tells you who works where, who moves, and who is locked in place. It does not book Tuesday. Treat it as the brief behind the brief, then run a search that actually follows through.

The short version

Talent mapping is a population picture. Metix publishes those pictures under /reports/mapping/: clinical AI (22 orgs), fintech momentum (30 companies, 25,860 current engineers), Quant Finance x AI (25 firms), full-population x-rays of OpenAI and Anthropic, and 56,861 engineering and research professionals across 15 U.S. AI-compute and chip companies. Use a map to write a sharper bar. Mira then sources 860M+ profiles and books the interview. A map is not a cleared-talent index, a FINRA directory, or a nurse-license database.

01The object

What a talent map is

It is a picture of a labor market, drawn from public professional traces, not a pile of resumes you are allowed to spam.

A useful map answers structural questions: who employs this skill, who is net-importing it, who is bleeding it, which labs feed which funds, and where unvested equity makes a skilled person present and uninterested. The AI-compute study on this site found roughly one in seven of NVIDIA's engineers effectively locked in place by unvested equity: present, skilled, not applying. That is a mapping finding, not a list of people to message tonight.

If your "map" is a spreadsheet of names last touched nine days ago, you have a paused search, not a map.

Maps already on this site

These are talent-structure reports, dated, with methods on the page. They are not product screenshots.

The library is larger. Those seven are the ones a hiring bar most often borrows from.

03How to use one

Write the bar from the map. Then search.

A map changes the brief. If the corridor report says quant talent spills into labs, you stop writing a JD that pretends the hire is only "Python plus finance" and start naming the lab-adjacent work. If the compute study says a slice of NVIDIA is equity-locked, you stop expecting those people to apply and you go outbound, or you look at adjacent orgs the map already named.

Then someone still has to search, outreach still needs your approval, and a person still has to sit the interview, because mapping without a loop is a PDF. The loop, on Metix AI, is Mira against 860M+ public profiles, a delivery lead, and a booked slot. The maps already say what they are not: not RN volume, not FINRA-native search, not a TS/SCI pool. Built for is the product split, not another map.

04What it is not

A map is not a special-access database

Vendors sometimes imply that a market map is a licensed directory. Ours are not. Metix AI does not process patient PHI, does not publish a cleared, TS/SCI, or polygraph pool, and does not run a native FINRA-registered search. Clearance, licenses, and registration checks stay with the employer. If you need a product that is those things, buy that product from a vendor that publishes the pool.

Retrieval research on this site is also not a map. Mira-Embeddings-V1 lifted Recall@50 from 68.89% to 77.55% on 300 real JDs. That is how search ranks people once you have a bar. It does not replace the interview, and it does not replace the map that told you which bar to write.

Try it

Read a map. Then fill the calendar.

Pick the report that matches the role, write the bar from it, and run one search. The trial is 3 roles and 12 credits, no card.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is talent mapping?

A talent map is a picture of a population: who works where, who moves, who is stuck, which corridors feed which labs. It is not a shortlist and not a booked interview.

What talent maps has Metix published?

Among others: 22 clinical-AI companies and hospital AI teams; 30 fintech companies covering 25,860 current engineers; a Quant Finance x AI corridor across 25 firms; full-population x-rays of OpenAI and Anthropic engineering; 56,861 engineering and research professionals across 15 U.S. AI-compute and chip companies. They live under /reports/mapping/.

Does a talent map replace sourcing?

No. The map tells you how the market is shaped so you can write a sharper bar. Someone still has to search, outreach, screen, and book. Mira runs that loop against the bar you approve.

Is a talent map a clearance or license directory?

No. The cybersecurity and healthcare pages on this site say so explicitly. Maps are public-graph structure reports. Clearance, FINRA, and clinical licensure stay employer checks.
